A silver setting costing well under 50p (from xxx) transformed into a real flower pendant retailing at £12.00 plus.
In this case the resin is epoxy (from yyy) and the purple flower is alysum.
Unlike the pendants below the casting is done the right way up as the resin dries with a hard flawless finish.
Bubbles are removed and a perfect finish is ensured by using the technique on page 16.
With some organisation and a little help it's quite feasible to produce several hundred such items a day! |

I would expect such an enhancement to increase the value of such an item at least sixfold. Flowers used include Ladies Mantle, Forget-Me-Not and Cow Parsley (Queene Anne's Lace) |
This pressed flower casting is made by embedding grass and moss in a clear polyester resin in a wax mould. It was intended that the the finished cabouchen would be a standard size (14 x 10 mm) and would fit into a standard size setting. Unfortunately the shrinkage of the resin resulted in a unique size. |
This pendant was made to fit by a jewellry workshop speciallising in coin mounts. It was made in sterling silver and the plated with 15 microns of gold. Plating gold onto silver is much more reliable than other metals. The finished item looks exactly the same as gold and always will. This pendant is 20 years old! It could still be made and sold very profitably at it's original retail price of £24.00! |
There's little point in making agate bookends when these can be bought from xxx from £4.00 a pair! These will retail at at least three times cost and are ideal for selling alongside jewellery. |
Ear ring Base metal findings like these are all available for between 2.4 and 1p a pair! In 9 ct gold 50p from 50p a pair or from 6p a pair in silver. |
Simply by adding a small stone or casting to a thong, chain or earing setting you have a very saleable product. |
